Christmas

A merry christmas to anyone who is reading this. I hope you are spending your time with your family rather than sitting here on the computer passing the time away writing and listening to john mayer at 1 am in the morning. But i have a question for some of you. For those of you who are reading this i ask you why do we celebrate christmas. I know a lot of you will say that is because of jesus's birth. But infact jesus was not born on christmas. He was actually born sometime in the fall but was moved to this day known as christmas by Constantine to counteract a pagan holiday. So again i ask you why do we celebrate christmas. Where have we gathered this tradition of giving and recieving gifts? What makes December 25th so special? It is not the day itself that is special it could be put on any day of the year. But the spirit of giving. The spirit that makes us all want to do good in our lives. This kind of spirit that should be carried throughout the entire year, but only shows itself on one day of the year. Its kind of sad but true isnt it. People change at this time of the year. They become better people. Im not the kind of person to point out flaws in other people. More i point flaws in myself so please do not take this in the way that im saying you are a bad person. But its true isnt it? Look around have you not noticed how some people have changed? Whether its a coworker or a close friend. We all have someone in our lives that acts differently around this time. Its enlightening to see them in a better mood for change for a while, but at some point this mood dies off and they go right back to their normal mood. This is the general attitude for most people in the holidays, but i however challenge you who are reading this to keep the good mood and cheer throughout the year. This doesnt mean you have to be happy and jolly every single day. but try to change the way you live for the better. Attempt to start each day a little brighter and happier. This is my challenge to those of you who bothered enough to read my writing.
